Upon arriving in Moscow, Eslami mentioned a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian in Moscow on January 17, 2025.
“In this framework, construction of second and third units of the Buchere nuclear power plant is underway, and the focus of senior officials from both countries has accelerated the pace of this project,” Eslami said.
He added that Russia has a defined share in Iran’s nuclear program, especially within the 20,000 megawatt expansion project. “There is a bilateral agreement on this point. During this visit, we will tour the contracted factories and review research and educational cooperation with scientific research institutions. We hope that this trip will be a milestone in relations between the two countries,” he pointed out.
Referring to the hosts of Russia’s World Atom Week, Eslami said: “Given the increased cooperation with Russia, we will be participating in Atomexpo exhibitions and related events, including signing bilateral cooperation documents.”
