TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi underlined the ministry’s continued efforts to secure the release of Iranian university professor Ahmad Reza Beyzai, who is currently detained in Turkey, stressing that all available diplomatic channels and tools are being utilized.
While visiting Tabriz, a city in northwest Iran, Araghchi reunited with Beyzai’s father for the first time in three months. The meeting allowed the father to share his concerns and detail the impact his son’s detention had on his family.
Mr. Araghchi described his ministry’s continued efforts to secure Mr. Beyzai’s release, reaffirmed Iran’s determination to protect its citizens abroad, and pledged that his ministry would pursue the case until Mr. Beyzai is freed.
The professor’s detention has raised concerns among Iranian authorities. Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will continue to closely monitor developments and coordinate with Turkish authorities to ensure the professor’s prompt release.
