Speaking to Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen News Network, Mohajerani stressed that Iran supports all measures and initiatives that can lead to an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and the realization of fundamental rights.
He stressed that Iran’s support for the Palestinian people is “not just a political position,” but rather stems from a deep belief in the right of nations to determine their own destiny and “resist oppression and occupation.”
Mohajerani stressed that Palestinian resistance is “legitimate and an inseparable part of the path to restoration of Palestinian rights.”
Iranian officials insisted that justice must be pursued beyond a cessation of hostilities. “There must be real accountability for those who order and carry out war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity,” he said, calling on the international community to uphold its legal and humanitarian responsibilities.
Mr. Mohajerani stressed that the pursuit of justice is essential to preventing future crimes and called for legal action in international courts against those responsible for the atrocities committed in Gaza.
Prior to this, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) formally announced a ceasefire agreement and a prisoner exchange agreement, which entered into force.
