These comments came on Saturday in a call with Pakistan Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif. There, both leaders exchanged greetings from Eid al-Ada, an Islamic festival of sacrifice.
President Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran’s principled policies focus on promoting de-escalation and promoting peace worldwide, particularly within the Islamic world.
He welcomed the invitation of Prime Minister Sharif to visit Islamabad and showed that he would direct his administration to explore a path to strengthen cooperation.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed his gratitude for Iran’s hospitality during his recent visit to Tehran, highlighting productive debates held in defense, security, economic issues and other sectors.
The Prime Minister proposed a visit to Iranian delegation to Pakistan to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations before President Pezeshkian’s future trip to neighboring countries.
He praised Iran’s position on Pakistan-India tensions, reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to dialogue with New Delhi to achieve peace, and welcomed Iran’s potential role as a mediator in this context.
