Tehran – The private screening and premiere of the Iranian-Tajikistan film “Fish on the Hook” was held on Sunday at the Islamic Republic Congress Centre on Iranian Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran.
The event was attended by Iran, the Ambassador of Tajikistan, Iran and the film’s cast and crew, Peiman Jeberi, head of Nizomidin Zohidi.
Zohidi recited a poem by the Persian poet Rudaki, saying, “Today is a collection of friendship and love between Tajikistan and Iran. It has a deep cultural, historical, religious and religious commonalities derived from the ancient history of our two countries.
“Our cultural and linguistic connections are the foundation for strengthening relations between the two countries. We appreciate that the political will of both countries’ leaders is entirely dedicated to expanding relations and that what has been signed by the leaders must be implemented,” he added.
“I congratulate the intellectuals and the people of both countries on the production of this film, rooted in our shared cultural, linguistic and historical heritage, and I hope that such a project will continue.
Later in the ceremony, Payman Jeberg said: “Iran and Tajikistan are located in two different regions, but share many historical, cultural and civilized ties. Writers and artists from both countries are always respected.”
“We are proud that IRIB has produced two joint films and television projects with Tajikistan within a year: the series “Capital” and the film “Fish on the Hook.” The film was filmed in Tajikistan, but there was a continuous collaboration behind the camera between Iran and Tajik crews.
At the event, Muhiddin Muzaffar, director of “Fish on the Hook,” expressed his gratitude to the officials and crew. Iranian film producer Amir Tajik emphasized that production costs are only a quarter of domestic feature films, highlighting the rich possibilities of both countries.
At the end of the event, the film was screened for the audience.
“Fish on the Hook” is when Daler, a 10-year-old boarding school student, goes on a journey with gambler Samad and finds his mother, Khursheda. Along the way, they face a variety of challenges that will help Dahlers mature and understand the importance of choice. When he meets his mother, the boy must make a fateful decision that can change his life forever.
The film is produced by the newly established film Studio Dovfilm and is being produced in collaboration with TV company Ifilm and Iranian partners of 30 Cup and Tajikfilm.
The concept of this film was developed in 2022 in collaboration with the director of a boarding school in Baston, Tajikistan. The script was originally written by Bakhtiyar Karimov. It was later revised under the guidance of the workshop of Valy Ahdov, thanks to a contribution from Muhyiddin Muzafah.
