TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi met with Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his official visit to Abu Dhabi on Monday.
The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing urgent issues of regional issues.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed “latest development of bilateral relations in various fields” and explored the pathway to deepening collaboration.
A statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to “strengthen regional security and stability through increased coordination,” and highlighted the strategic importance of Tehran-Abu Dhabi ties.
Araguchi denounces the ongoing atrocities of Israeli regimes in Palestine and its neighboring countries, calling for urgent and serious action to counter this expansion, along with the regime’s massacre campaign in Gaza and the West Bank and terrorist attacks on Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.
He reiterated Iran’s call for a unified regional effort to combat Israel’s “permanent violation of international norms.”
The talks also touched on the circumstances of indirect negotiations between Iran and the US, with Aragut explaining his Emirati counterpart for recent developments. Although no details have been made public, both sides emphasized the dialogue as a path to resolving the conflict.
The conference embraces the depths of diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Abu Dhabi, and has been built on multiple high levels of exchanges in recent years.
Since 2023, the two countries have stepped up their efforts to strengthen economic partnerships and regional dialogue, with mutual visits by trade delegates and security officials.
