Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is a safe and targeted cancer treatment that uses very low-dose chemotherapy combined with electrical pulses to destroy cancer.
Experts from a knowledge-based company located in the Science and Technology Park of Tehran University have successfully launched the first national production line of Iran’s first national electroporation (ECT) device.
The first indigenous electrochemotherapy ablation system (a new method for targeted treatment of cancerous tumors) production line is the result of relying on local technical knowledge and leveraging international standards to bring Iran to the country in cancer treatment.
With the launch of this production line, Iran became the first country in Asia to join the UK and Italy to produce this new technology. Electroporation devices use electrical pulses to increase the permeability of cancer cells and significantly improve the effectiveness of anticancer agents.
