According to news television, Abbas Araguchi issued a statement on Thursday with a video link address to the 24th meeting of the Council of Iola Member States under the President of Sri Lanka.
Emphasizing the importance of the Indian Ocean for human communities and the growing relationship between nations, Araghchi said, “IORA has proven its continued connection with member states as it is the best existing platform for dialogue, common understanding and joint action.”
Aragut said the Islamic Republic has always contributed to the realization of Iola’s goals and objectives, and has strengthened its role in recent years.
“In order to make the Indian Ocean more sustainable and outcomes for our nations, including the next generation, it is important for IORA to sketch its general paradigms, visions, related programs and projects in a more resilient way to future shocks,” Araghchi said.
“This not only fulfills the needs and aspirations of Member States, but also contributes to the implementation of the global agenda in this part of the world.”
Iran is currently chairman and coordinator of the IORA Working Group on Economic Empowerment of Women and IORA Academic Group, and also hosts the IORA Regional Centre for Science and Technology Transfer.
