TEHRAN – Iran on Sunday strongly condemned Israel’s widespread military strikes in various regions of Israel, stating that it is the responsibility of the international community, particularly the UN Security Council and the guarantor of the ceasefire agreement, taking an immediate and effective step to halt the military strikes of the Geonist system.
France and the United States are guarantors monitoring the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.
Ismail Baghaei, a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said repeated attacks by Zionist regimes in Lebanon and Syria and the strengthening of genocide in Gaza and the West Bank pose a real threat to international peace and security.
The escalation of hundreds of ceasefire violations by Israel over the past two months and military attacks on various Lebanon regions over the past three days are clear indications of the Tel Aviv system’s disregard for “fraud” and “all principles and norms of international law.”
On Sunday, Israel launched a series of intense airstrikes in several regions of southern Lebanon, leaving behind wounded or martyrs in the country’s new attacks despite a ceasefire contract in late November 2024.
Lebanon President Joseph Aung has condemned “attempts to drug Lebanon into a cycle of violence again.”
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also said that the disastrous consequences of new military operations at Lebanon’s southern border “can drag the country into a new, devastating war.”
Parliamentary Speaker Navi Beli also denounced Israel, saying that Israel’s occupation regime has so far involved more than 1,500 violations of Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire clause, but Lebanon and its resistance movement have fully complied with all provisions of the contract.
