Tehran -Iran’s first Vice President Mohamad Lesa Aleph will visit Kazakhstan on Thursday to attend the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Summit and the Almat Digital Summit 2025.
The visit will be made in accordance with the official invitation of Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olhas Vectenov.
Ali Najafi, a representative of the first deputy President’s international issue and regional cooperation, emphasized the importance of this trip on Wednesday.
He pointed out that Iranian officials are the first to participate in the EAEU conference as an observer.
Iran has recently acquired the status of observers in EAEU, an economic block, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgi Stan, and Armenia.
Najafi expressed optimism about the growing relationship between Iran and EAEU, and said, “The cooperation of Iranian economic coalitions can strengthen and strengthen their relationships with local members.”
He emphasized the importance of the recently approved free trade agreement between Iran and EAEU.
“The implementation of the contract will eliminate about 87 % of tariffs on exports to the region, expand economic and trade cooperation with these countries, and provide a great opportunity to boost Iranian exports.” Najafi added.
EAEU, established in 2015, aims to strengthen economic cooperation, harmonize regulations, and promote economic modernization between member countries.
Iran’s recent free trade agreement with EAEU aims to deepen economic connections and compete with Western sanctions by expanding the partnership between the trade route and the member countries.
Furthermore, Najafi emphasizes the importance of Iran’s participation in the Almati Digital Summit, saying, “This summit introduces Iranian abilities, initiatives, and behaviors in the field of artificial intelligence, digital economy, and information technology. I will provide you. “
Tehran and Astana have maintained a historical relationship and share interest in energy, transportation and trade.
The two countries are part of various areas in various regions, including EAEU, which are working on economic diversification and connection.
The strategic place in Iran is Kazakhstan’s access to the southern port and strengthens trade routes like the North -South Transport corridor.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s EAEU membership provides Iranian routes to the Central Asian market.
