Rear Admiral Shahram Irani delivered a message on the occasion of Navy Day at a joint military morning ceremony in Mazandaran on Sunday. He said the day was a salute to the faith, courage and foresight of naval personnel who defended Iran’s national strength and safeguarded the security and honor of the Persian Gulf waters in the harshest conditions.
Underscoring the strategic role of the Navy in the history of the Islamic Revolution, Rear Admiral Irani said the Navy has always stood firm against the threats of its mortal enemy, relying on the courage and dedication of its members. He cited the sacrifices of martyrs during the Iran-Iraq war and in the recent conflict with Israel as evidence that the Iranian navy views the sea as a realm of faith, honor and courage.
He noted the navy’s active role in the 12-day campaign against Israel, stressing that the navy’s “strong and intelligent presence” in defense, support and intelligence shows that Iran will not bow to any threat.
Maj. Gen. Irani also praised the loyal servicemen who exemplified the true meaning of an army dedicated to the nation. He stressed that today the Navy continues on the path of progress and excellence, drawing on domestic expertise, self-reliance and the guidance of the leaders of the Islamic Revolution. Regular participation in regional exercises, international missions, support for the development of the Makran coast, and contribution to the ocean-based economy demonstrate the Navy’s role as an important bridge between military power and economic and cultural progress.
