“If True Promise III is not yet fulfilled, it is not that there is the wisdom behind the delay and has been cancelled,” Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said Friday.
He characterized delays for strategic and intentional wisdom.
The formula praises the leaders of the Islamic Republic as “wise, brave, advanced, prudent and wise”, indicating that the operation will be carried out in time at the discretion of Ayatollah Khamenei and based on the prudence of the leader.
The statement came less than a week after Major General Mohammad Bagieri, chief of staff of the Iranian army, emphasized that the country had developed all the (defensive) dimensions needed to generate “military) capabilities.
Last year, the Islamic Republic demonstrated its military power in the true Promise I and II operation, in which a retaliatory strike was launched in response to Israel’s invasion.
The operation, carried out using hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones, demonstrated the ability to attack Iran’s sensitive Israeli military and intelligence targets with surgical accuracy.
Iranian officials emphasize that the country deployed only a small portion of its firepower during double retaliation.
