Tehran – Iran participated in the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) held in Istanbul from February 5th to 7th.
Cultural performances featuring traditional dances from various ethnic groups attracted exceptional attention due to the country’s pavilion at the event, Mehr reported. “These cultural programs designed by the Iranian Tour & Motorcycle Club are part of Iran’s broader efforts in Emmitt’s 28th edition, showing off its rich cultural heritage.”
Iran’s presence in Emmitt was promoted by the club and represented the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts. The pavilion highlighted a diverse range of sectors, including cultural and natural locations, Persian cuisine and intangible cultural heritage. It provided visitors with experiences of the country’s tourism potential in the fields of ecotourism, health tourism and traditional handicrafts.
Beyond visual appeal, Iran’s presence was aimed at strengthening global partnerships and promoting sustainable tourism. Additionally, the club has held many interactive sessions and meetings to attract international tourism experts, investors and stakeholders.
Hassan Dideban, a cultural advisor to Iran’s Iranian Islamic Republic in Istanbul, praised Iran’s active and prominent participation in Emmit this year. He emphasized the importance of such international exhibits to promote Iran’s tourism capabilities.

Emmitt’s head acknowledged Iran’s important role in the regional tourism industry and described the state’s participation as a valuable opportunity to strengthen Iran and Turkey’s cultural and tourism ties. She expressed her hope that the new participation, realized several years later, paves the way for stronger cooperation and increased tourist exchange between the two countries.
Recognised as one of the top five tourism exhibitions around the world, the fair was launched by Turkish Home Minister Ali Ellikaya and Governor Istanbul with the participation of high-ranking Turkish authorities, including Kosnow’s Omed Kosnow. 450 active representatives from 110 countries have been gathered at the Tüyap Istanbul Fair Centre.
