Iranian President Masuud Pezeschkian says his country supports expanding cooperation between coastal states in the Caspian Sea to protect mutual interest and the environment.
Pezeshkian spoke on Monday on a phone call with Turkmenistan’s national leader, Ghabanguri Badimhadou.
The Iranian president said his country is hoping for peace and friendship in all parts of the world and will welcome cooperation with Turkmenistan and other countries to realize its goal.
He also said Iran intends to promote cooperation with Turkmenistan in other sectors, adding that the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee will help expand bilateral relations.
Berdimumhamedow celebrated the 46th anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution that fell on Monday.
He called for increased economic cooperation with Iran, including transportation, energy and gas exchange.
Berdimumhamedow said Turkmenistan also wanted broader cooperation with Iran in the arts and culture as the two countries share a common cultural background.
