TEHRAN – Iranian 3D animated feature film “Yooz,” written and directed by Reza Aljangi, will be shown on November 2nd at the York Cinema in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.
The animation, produced by the Thule Cinema Organization, had its international premiere in Richmond Hill and will be shown in other Canadian cities, Mair reported.
This animation tells the story of a Persian cheetah raised in New York. Although he has adapted to city life, he suffers from a deep sense of alienation. As time passes, they begin to feel a deep sense of alienation and miss their homeland. So he embarks on a challenging journey to return to Iran in search of his Iranian roots and true identity, facing both natural and internal obstacles and realizing that returning home is not just a physical journey, but a cultural and spiritual one.
The story focuses on themes such as environmental awareness, endangered species protection, and the importance of cultural identity.
“Yaws”, which was released in Iranian cinemas from September 24th, set a new record for the highest daily attendance for a children’s film in the history of Iranian cinema, attracting 70,000 viewers on October 8th, National Children’s Day.
The previous record was “Woolina and the Birds” with 51,000 viewers, followed by “Smart Kid” with 49,000 viewers.
