Russian Defense Secretary Colonel Alexander Fomin discussed the issues of international and regional security, including the South Caucasus, with Iranian ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
“On August 26th, a meeting was held between Russia’s Colonel Alexander Fomin and Ambassador Ambassador of Iran and the extraordinary ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Russia, Kazem Jalali, including touching on the situation in the South Caucasus region,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry emphasized that senior Russian military officials thanked Jalali for their major contributions to the development of Russia-Iran relations. Next, Iranian envoys focused on the positive dynamics and diversity of Russia-Iran’s interaction in the military field.
“The meeting was held in an atmosphere of friendship and trust and confirmed the mutual intention to further develop strategic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
