Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation regarding the latest status of relations between the two neighboring countries.
Mr. Araghchi emphasized the importance of the long-standing friendship between the two Muslim neighbors and reaffirmed Iran’s determination to expand cooperation in various fields.
He also expressed concern over the situation between Afghanistan and Pakistan and stressed the need for sustained dialogue between the two countries with the support of influential regional countries to reduce tensions and resolve differences. Araghchi reiterated that Iran is ready to provide all support to achieve this goal.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister briefed Araghchi on the recent situation and outcome of recent negotiations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the wake of recent developments and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Both sides agreed to continue consultations on these issues.
