The meeting, held in Kabul, was attended by Alireza Bikdeli, Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Director of the South Asia Department of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Taliban Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani.
The talks centered on security cooperation and border issues between the two neighboring countries.
The two sides also held detailed discussions on joint efforts to combat drug trafficking and strengthen cooperation along their common borders.
The Iranian delegation stressed the importance of maintaining stability along the shared borders and continuing dialogue to resolve issues through a spirit of understanding and cooperation.
Mr. Haqqani stressed the importance of regional cooperation and said the Taliban pursues good relations based on mutual respect with all countries, especially with neighboring countries.
