Brigadier General Soleiman Taheli, commander of the Iranian Army’s Western Regional Headquarters, has announced the seizure of the bulk shipments of unauthorized weapons along the western border of Kermansha.
In an interview with Mehr’s press, General Taheri said:
According to Taheri, the intercepted cache included 76 handguns, some manufactured in the US and Turkey, and included seven Winchester rifles and six hunting shotguns.
He highlighted the full Army surveillance of the western border area.
Taheri said the intelligence agency indicated that the weapons were intended for anti-security operations within the country, but were neutralised prior to implementation thanks to timely military action.
This is the region’s third major weapons attack since the beginning of the year, he said.
He concluded that Iranian forces are completely vigilant and ready to respond decisively to any threat to national security.
