Brigadier General Reza Shojaei, commander of the Sistan Baluchestan Border Guards, said: “One of the Sunni border guards of the Saravan Border Regiment was injured in a terrorist attack while patrolling the country’s southeastern border. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and suffered a high degree of martyrdom after being hospitalized.”
The commander announced that a Sunni border guard named Martin Baurzahi Solani was injured in an armed clash with terrorists on September 14 earlier this year. At this time, the officers of the Esfandak Rangers of the Sarabang Border Regiment were attacked by a terrorist group while patrolling the main road around the village of Esfandak in Sarabang Province, and they clashed with the terrorist group.
General Shojaei said the border guard was injured in the abdomen and has been hospitalized in Mashhad since September.
He added that the terrorists remained at large, although investigations into their actions were still ongoing.
