In an interview with Lebanon’s Al Jade TV, Amani denied rumors that he was called by Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Relations with the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued normally and there was no talk of summoning,” he said.
The ambassador said the “false and deviant” reports of Iran-Lebanon’s sour relationship were part of propaganda aimed at displaying the Israeli regime as a winner.
He emphasized that Iran respects Lebanon’s institutions, resistance and any agreement between political parties, saying, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is to support the oppressed, regardless of their faith or sect.”
Rejecting the “illusion” that Lebanon’s resistance has weakened, Amani said he was a Zionist regime that was defeated after failing to reach its purpose and was forced to trade between Lebanon and Hamas.
