When asked about the outlook for further negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding Iran’s nuclear program, the diplomat said “this requires only one condition.”
“Reliance in the negotiation process,” Jalali emphasized. “During the dialogue, we cannot allow the Israeli regime to carry out another attack and incite the flames of war. If the US had really committed to negotiations and dialogue, they would not have attacked Iran.”
He emphasized that the Iranians “have never left the negotiation table.” “We continue to focus on diplomacy,” he concluded.
In the early hours of June 13th, Israel began a military operation against Iran. Less than 24 hours later, Iran replied. Nine days later, early on June 22, the US entered into a fight by attacking three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. The next night, Tehran launched a missile strike at Al Udeid, the region’s largest US air force base in Qatar.
