Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragci, who traveled to Doha, Qatar, met with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Iraq on Sunday night.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the summit as part of ongoing bilateral consultations with local counterparts in Araguchi. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest in bilateral relations and latest regional development.
The Doha Emergency Summit is at a critical time for the Islamic world amid increasing Israeli invasions in Gaza and the wider regions, and increasing calls for collective action by Muslims and Arab countries. Two key regional players, Iran and Iraq, have repeatedly emphasized coordination against regional security and opposition to foreign intervention.
The conference highlights Tehran’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with Baghdad within a broader Islamic and Arab framework, reflecting Iran’s position that unity between Islamic states is essential in combating the current crisis.
