During the meeting, the two discussed bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest, regional and international development.
Araguchi, who leads the diplomatic delegation, arrived in the Indian capital on Wednesday and worked for a meeting with high-ranking Indian officials.
During his meeting with the Indian Foreign Minister, Araguchi pointed to the long-standing relationship between Iran and India, saying that Tehran is determined to expand its relations with New Delhi in various areas of mutual interest.
He emphasized the importance of trade relations between the two countries and said that implementing a 10-year cooperation agreement to develop Iran’s port of Chabahar is important for both countries.
The Iranian minister also expressed his satisfaction with the 20th Iran-India Joint Economic Cooperation Committee, describing it as a great opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the two parties.
He further emphasized the importance of security and stability in the South Asian region for Iran, and expressed his hope for a resolution of tensions through the commitments of both Indian and Pakistani officials.
