According to the Iranian National Gas Company, from March 21 to the beginning of the Iranian year on September 12, the power plant received 47.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This shows an increase from 45.4 billion cubic meters supplied over the same period last year.
Increased delivery is to ensure that stable power supply is a top priority during peak summer consumption. Power plants are the largest consumers of natural gas in warmer seasons, and the residential and commercial sectors are the leading consumers in winter. Growth this year shows that the gas industry has successfully increased demand from generators.
“Currently, the power plants are receiving full capacity gas, and there is no shortage of gas-dependent power plants this spring and summer,” NIGC CEO Saeid Tavakoli said on August 9.
The power plant’s daily consumption record was also broken on August 4th, reaching 312 million cubic meters of usage.
