TEHRAN – Senior Iranian military officials praised China’s “fair position” condemning the US’s recent attacks on Israel and Iran.
“I think we need to acknowledge the fair position of the Chinese government and other governments who took the lead in condemning Iran’s attacks on the Islamic Republic without fear of the hegemonic powers of the West,” said Brigadier General Mohammad Ahadi, head of national defense tumors and international relations for the Iranian military.
He made a speech at the Chinese Embassy in Tehran on Tuesday during a reception to mark the 98th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
On June 13, Israel launched a wave of unprovoked attacks on Iranian soil, targeting senior military officials, nuclear scientists and civilians. The strike has resulted in more than 1,000 deaths, including women and children.
Nine days later, on June 22, the United States joined the conflict by launching airstrikes at three Iranian nuclear facilities. The move was widely condemned as a violation of both the UN Charter and the non-proliferation treaty.
Iran responded quickly and decisively. The forces launched precision strikes on high-value Israeli targets in cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa, attacking Al Udeid Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military facility in West Asia.
By June 24, Iran’s coordinated counterattack had managed to halt the joint Israeli-American attack.
“The decisive response of the Islamic Republic in the form of self-defense encouraged a demand for a ceasefire (Israel and the United States) and accepted it based on the fundamental principles, but we never trust their words.
He warned that further attacks by Israel and the US would trigger an even stronger response.
He also highlighted Israel’s ongoing military action in the region, particularly the brutal war with Gaza since October 2023.
“For almost two years, the world has witnessed major humanitarian disasters in the Gaza Strip: widespread killing of civilians and harsh siege of people aimed at cleansing the region’s genocide and ethnic groups,” the brigadier general said he was referring to Israeli attacks in Gaza.
Iranian commanders also condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Syria, as well as Washington’s continued support for Tel Aviv. “The Zionist regime is not satisfied with Palestinian lands under the unshakable support of some Western governments, particularly the US, and its history has been intertwined with attacks, repeatedly violating the sovereignty of other countries, particularly Lebanon and Syria, over the past two years.”
He also highlighted the growing military and strategic partnership between Iran and China, and expressed optimism about his contribution to global stability.
“The relationship between the two countries in various fields, especially military cooperation, is developing at a good pace, and with the unilateral collapse of states by two important and influential countries in East Asia and West Asia, it certainly plays a major role in future global peace and security,” he said, highlighting the Iranian and Chinese leaders’ commitment to deepening bilateral Thailand.
“Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, described China as an independent and trustworthy country, and President Xi Jinping also emphasized the expansion of military ties between the two countries in the form of strategic partnerships.”
Brigadi also praised China’s global vision. “The growth and prosperity of independent countries like China, which have no doubts and without a haughty approach, propose and pursue initiatives for global peace and security, is beneficial to global peace and security, and these actions are admirable,” he said.
