Tehran – “Iran and India share a timeless heritage reflected in the ancient sites of Bihar,” the Iranian Indian ambassador said at a recent cultural rally in Tehran.
The “Meet and Greet” event brought together social media influencers, including Iranian culture enthusiasts and actor Saber Abar, to celebrate the cultural connections between the two countries.
In his speech, Ambassador Rudra Gaurav Shresth highlighted the deep cultural connections between the two countries over five to six thousand years, highlighting shared civilizations and heritage.
He also highlighted lesser known gems, such as Bihar, one of India’s oldest and most historic states. Bihar’s heritage includes sites that were said to remind visitors of Iran’s Achaemenid Persepolis.
It featured a short tourist film under the slogan “Incredible India” and featured the country’s diverse climate and attractions. Guests were invited to experience the traditional art of henna, while influencers prepared Indian street food together and fostered practical cultural exchanges.
As a meaningful takeaway, the book featuring Persian poems, which contain references to India, translated into English by the ambassador, was presented to all attendees.
Guests also took part in a quiz on general knowledge about India and added interactive elements to the event.
Through their social media, influencers helped to uncover the fascinating side of India, urging Iranian tourists to discover its rich heritage.
Influencers sampled traditional delicacies such as macana, samosa, chicken tikka and alannini rice balls, adding a layer of flavour to their cultural journey alongside the unique Indian drink Sattu.
