The 29th installment of the month of Fabadan, Iran, was appointed to the National Army Day by Imam Khomeini (RA), the late founder of the Islamic Revolution.
After a historic letter from the late founder of Imam Khomeini in April 1979, the National Army Day was included in the Iranian calendar.
He expressed strong support for the Army and ordered the Army troops to hold a large parade nationwide each April 18th.
The historical decision by Imam Khomeini came from the weakening of the army after hostile propaganda, succeeding in subduing the riots and separatist movements.
Iran’s Islamic Republic will mark National Army Day on Friday in a spectacular military parade in Tehran, showing the country’s latest defence achievements and reaffirming its military’s commitment to protect national sovereignty and regional stability.
For many Iranians, Army Day is not just a military observance, but a reaffirmation of national identity. In areas with instability, Iranian troops are portrayed as stabilising forces with clear messages. Peace through power, independence through vigilance.
Especially after the sacred defense, there have been major changes in military equipment since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Almost all the equipment featured in the Army Parade are homemade and enjoy advanced technology.
A few years ago, the military had no drones, but today the military has quite a bit of power in the drone field.
In his remarks at the beginning of April, Brigadier General Kiumars Heidari, commander of the Army Ground Forces, announced that a new generation of special weapons that are highly effective in conflict will soon be announced.
Referring to the fundamental changes in both the structure and weapons of ground forces, Heidary said, “We have transformed operational needs into mobile, aggressive and quick response power. Traditional and immovable units of the past no longer exist in today’s mobile attack sites.”
He added that the unit currently enjoys 100% mobility and 100% offensive and endurance abilities, and requires special weapons tailored to these abilities.
He emphasized that new weapons were introduced on the ground to replace the old system under the leadership of strategic planning and Islamic revolution Ayatollah Seiyed Ali Khamenei.
