Tehran – The 2024 Iranian drama romance television miniseries “The End of the Night,” directed by Ida Panahandeh, will compete at Cinema Jove, a Cinema Jove, scheduled to take place in Spain from June 19th to 28th.
He is the second international figure in the Iranian series after participating in the Series Mania Festival in France in March, Irna reported.
Written and produced by the real-life creative couple Panahande and Arsaran Amiri, the nine-episode series delicately and skillfully analyses the separation of couples shattered by the disillusionment of social situations.
After a decade of economic austerity, middle-class couples were able to buy apartments in the suburbs of Tehran, but financial problems and traps of married life caught them, and they now have to face the consequences of their separation: divorce, and everything that means.
The Iranian miniseries is a powerful and intense reflection on sacrificing lives together, and stands out with its deep, authentic characters and the extraordinary performances of two lead actors, Parsa Pirouzfar and Hoda Zeinolabedin.
Other cast members include Rayan Sarlak, Alireza Davoudnezhad, Reza Beboudi, Ehteram Boroumand, Siamak Safari, Kazem Hajirazad, and Nahid Moslemi.
Ida Panahandeh, 46, was born in Tehran. She holds a Masters degree in Film orientation from the Arts College in Tehran. In 2009, she joined the Berlin talent campus.
Throughout her work, she has focused on women’s rights. This was done in her debut film, “Nahid” (2015). It was screened in the UN Certain Respect section of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, where it won a special award (Prix de L’Avenir) and was released in France by Memento Films. “Nahid” was later released in theaters in many European countries.
Her second feature, “Israfil” (2017), was screened at the BFI London Film Festival and won several awards at the International Festival.
“Nikaidos ‘Fall” (2018) is her third feature, co-producing with Naomi Kawase as an executive producer in Japan and Hong Kong. The film debuted at the Nara International Film Festival, and was released in Japan in January 2019, and later released in several East Asian countries.
“Titi” (2020), her fourth feature film premiered at the International Film Festival in Country No. 33. In 2022, it won three awards at national and international festivals.
Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove is the annual festival held in Valencia in June. Certified by FIAPF in the “Specialized Competition Festival” category.
The festival is a forum for young international filmmakers to meet, and its profession is to showcase the best international cinemas directed by young people.
