Admiral Shalam Irani, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iranian Navy, arrived in the port city of Karachi in southern Pakistan on Saturday morning.
Irani has visited Pakistan at the official invitation of the commander of the Pakistani navy to participate in the Aman 25 Navy Movement and the Aman dialogue.
The Iranian Navy will take part in the ninth edition of Pakistan’s multinational naval movement called Aman 25, which began at Karachi Port on Friday.
The Pakistani Navy is holding maritime exercises with naval participation along with ships, aircraft, special operational forces, Explosive Weapon Disposal (EOD) marine teams and observers from over 60 countries, news outlets reported. .
The event, according to organizers, aims to strengthen maritime security and promote international cooperation in the face of regional and global challenges.
Combat ships, which are part of a delegation from the Iranian Navy, will also be present in the drills, which will be held from February 7th to 11th.
On the sidelines of the exercise, the Iranian military delegation will be taking part in the first Aman dialogue, focusing on maritime cooperation. They will also meet a variety of delegations, including Pakistani military officials.
Pakistan officially invited Iran to participate in the exercise during a recent visit to Islamabad by Major General Mohammad Bakeli.
