Before departing for Pakistan, the president gave a positive rating on the trade relations between Tehran and Islamabad, emphasizing that he “plans to increase the trade exchange between the two countries to $10 billion a year.”
“The positive, heartfelt and profound relationships between Iran and Pakistan have continued since the establishment of this beloved country. These relationships are carried out in economic, scientific, cultural and border areas, and there is a deep bond between the Iranian people and the beloved brothers and sisters of Pakistan,” added Pezeshkian.
One of the priorities of this trip was to strengthen and develop border trade through land, air and sea with Pakistan, adding, “through Pakistan, it can lead to the Silk Road between China and Pakistan, and this road can lead to Europe through Iran.”
