Tehran – Five railways are on UNESCO listings, from Austria, India, Switzerland, Italy and Iran, and Vahidali Qardashi, a World Heritage Site via Iran, said.
Speaking at a special meeting attended by Deputy Minister Ali Dharabi, a senior official at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage Ministry and assistant to the Cultural Heritage department of eight states connected to the National Railways, he said it was a north-north-south corridor, a north-north-south corridor that the Iranian Railway called on Caspian Bay.
During the meeting, the technical, cultural and tourism capabilities of the 1,394km railway were studied. This route has passed eight subcremates and four major climates, creating an unparalleled masterpiece of engineering, architecture, artistic and cultural interactions. More than 251 large bridges, 4,000 small bridges, 245 tunnels and the construction of 90 stations on this route, the Belescu Bridge, three Golden Lines and the largest metal bridge over the Kalun River in Ahvaz are manifestations of Iranian engineering power in the 20th century. The total length of the tunnel on this route reaches 83 km, including the tunnels of Gaduk and Chaha Abdiz. This work was considered a world-class technical and architectural masterpiece at the time.
Qardashi said it was the first railway registered from West Asia. The engineering masterpiece has been a symbol of Iranian management throughout history.
“One of the unique features of Iranian railways is that they pass through four different climates. Passengers on rail travel can experience significant differences in temperature and climate.
He emphasized that the railway is not only a transportation route, but also a unique example of an engineering system that has brought about significant changes in nature and human environments by crossing mountains, plains and rivers. This route shows how engineering can create new opportunities for the development of local communities and cultural connections, he noted.
Also, Farhad Azitzi, a senior official at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, said that in every global project, the key to the success and proper use of these projects is to promote and promote the participation of all stakeholders, especially local people and communities.
“Today, we have a unique ability and a reputable global brand. We need to hold these meetings in the form of practical and interactive workshops and provide the necessary platform to introduce the outstanding global values of our works. The infrastructure and sustainable exploitation of this World Heritage Site and Iranian railways will become a powerful tourism and economic axis.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage Ali Dharabi said many Iranian families play a role in the railways, and this social capital is the main supporter of the global registration of this great job.
He also pointed to the importance of railways in the link between heritage protection and sustainable tourism development, saying that this historic route is a model for maintaining cultural values along with intellectual exploitation in the field of tourism, allowing heritage protection and economic development to proceed simultaneously.
