Tehran – A prominent Iranian nuclear scientist was killed in an Israeli attack on Iran.
In Abdolhamid Minouchehr, who earned his PhD, he was the dean of nuclear engineering at Shahid Beheshti University.
Minouchehr played an important role in expanding research and educational programs.
He was an expert in fields such as reactor physics, nuclear simulation, and advanced nuclear fuel design engineering.
He conducted extensive research into improving the efficiency and safety of nuclear power plants.
Ahmad Reza Zorfakari is the second most prominent nuclear engineering scientist at Shahid Beshti University after Israel’s attack on Iran.
Both Minoucherr and Zolfaqari helped launch the National Strategic Nuclear Engineering Project. Their constant efforts have contributed to the country’s scientific self-sufficiency and the inherent nature of the technical knowledge.
The third martial scientist, Amir Hossein Fekui, was also a faculty member at Shahid Beshti University, who previously served as vice president of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency (AEOI) and head of the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology.
Along with another prominent nuclear scientist, Feredun Abbasi, an Iranian nuclear scientist and former nuclear chief, and Mohammad Medi Tehrenlanchi, a theoretical physicist who is also president of Islamic Azad University, there were also targets for separate attacks on Tehran residents.
Abbasi was the former head of Iran’s atomic energy organization and a former member of the Iranian parliament. He received his PhD in Nuclear Physics and conducted nuclear research at the Ministry of Defense.
In 2010, Abbasi survived the Twin Blast in Tehran and killed nuclear scientist Majid Shariari.
Akbar Motallebizadeh is another well-known nuclear scientist who was targeted and killed along with his wife.
