The report stated that if the energy supply problem was resolved, the country could rise from 10th to seventh place last year in the world ranking of major steel production countries.
According to the global steel data, Turkish steel production surpassed Iran in 2024, and the country’s production increased by 9.4 % a year, the best among 10 major steel production countries around the world.
Iran became the world’s seventh largest steel production country in November, with a production volume of 3.1 million tons, an increase of 0.1 % from the same month in 2023.
