Tehran – A group of Sunni intellectuals and elites across Iran’s Islamic Republic has issued a powerful statement addressed to leaders, scholars and young people across the Islamic world, celebrating Iran’s decisive victory over the US and Zionist regimes, calling for broad Islamic resistance in the face of Western attacks.
In their statement, scholars described the recent developments of the region not only as a geopolitical turning point, but also as the historic victory of Islam over mistrust (KUFR). “This is the victory of the Islamic Republic against the global front of arrogance and oppression, and in fact the victory of the entire Islamic Umma,” the statement read.
Heavily condemned the Zionist regime, and scholars characterized it as a “cancerous tumor” imposed on the region by British colonialism and US imperialism. They condemned the continued occupation of Al-Kud and the daily crimes against Palestinians, especially women and children. “The illegitimate existence of the administration depends on the bloodshed of innocent people,” the statement said.
Scholars praised the courage of the young fighters, referring to the 7th October Al-Aqsa flood operation launched by Palestinian resistance forces in Gaza, “shaking the foundations of the Zionist regime and exposing the myths of its military and intelligence news.”
They also honored the memories of prominent resisters, including Martyr said Hassan Nasrallah, Martyred Hashem Safi al-Din, Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, and Martyr Yahya Al-Sinwar. According to the statement, these individuals defended the Al-Aqsa Mosque and martyred solely to protect oppressed civilians.
Sunni thinkers also condemned Iran’s recent attacks on the Islamic Republic, describing them as part of a broader war against the axis of resistance. “In their delusions, the Zionists and their American partners believed that they could attack Iran and destabilize the Islamic Republic. But they fell into their own miscalculation trap.”
Warnings of wider conflict, scholars stressed that other Muslim countries could soon face similar threats. “This is no longer a war against a single country. It is a war against the Islamic world. The war of civilization is beginning.”
Reflecting the Quran poems, the signatories asked the whole Muslim Umma, especially the youths, thinkers and leaders of Islamic countries to defend the onslaught of extremist unbelievers and the honor of Islam and the holiness of Al-Kud.
“We, Sunni scholars and intellectuals in Iran, have clearly declared that resistance to these Islam’s enemies is a religious and moral duty, when the Islamic world rises.
