Iranian teenage judo won one silver medal and two bronze medals at the Asian Judo Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The two-day junior competition concluded on Friday night, with Iran’s outstanding performance bringing performances from Samira Kak Kha in the girls’ under 63kg category.
She defeated the enemies of Jordan and Indonesia and advanced to the final, where she faced strong competitors from South Korea. Despite her efforts, Khak-Khah lost a decisive match but won a valuable silver medal.
At the boys’ competition, Amilhossain Nazari won bronze in the weight class of less than 90 kg. Mohammad Pouria Banaeian won the bronze after beating his teammate Ali-Asghar Malekzadeh in the third place contest.
The Asian Judo Championships will continue on Saturday with matches in the youth category that will run for two days.
