In the men’s 88kg class, Ilya Salehipour won the silver medal with a total of 359kg, lifting 162kg in the snatch and 197kg in the clean and jerk.
Sharwar Zafarjonov of Uzbekistan won the gold medal with (161-202-363), while the bronze medal went to Omani weightlifter Amur Al Khanjali with (153-201-354).
In the women’s 69kg category, Reihane Karimi won the bronze medal. She lifted 95kg in the snatch and 126kg in the clean and jerk, placing third with a total of 221kg.
Bahrain’s Grueso Ingrid and Turkey’s Gungor Nurai won the gold and silver medals with 234 and 233 points respectively.
The 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, also known as Riyadh 2025, is an intercontinental multi-sport event organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) and will be held from November 7th to 21st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The event brought together more than 3,000 athletes from 57 countries who competed in 25 sports in search of glory in one of the major multi-sport events in the Islamic world.
