Tehran – Iranian Robotics and Geoscience Teams have received different awards at the International Robosport Association (FIRA) and International Geoscience Olympiad (IESO) Conventions held in Korea and China, respectively.
The robot team, who participated in the FIRA 2025 World Robotics and AI competition in Daegu, Korea, managed to win 11 awards.
Iranian participants at the International Geoscience Olympiad (IESO) in Zing, China won four bronze medals.
Fira Roboworld Cup and Summit 2025 took place from August 11th to 15th. The game was held in 46 events in four leagues, including Bipedal Walking’s autonomous robots, Sports League, Challenge League, Challenge League, and Challenge League, including Air League.
The Iranian delegation won five championships in the Air League and Sports League (students under the age of 19), as well as the Challenge and Youth League. They secured four runner-up positions and two third positions in self-driving cars, youth creative tasks and sports leagues.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Fira Roboworld Cup and Summit competed with 900 robotic prospects from 17 countries around the world, including the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Russia, China, Taiwan, Iran and Brazil.
On the 14th, a “summit” event was held involving 250 domestic and foreign robot researchers and students to discuss robotics and AI-related policies and international technical standards.
The Iranian team, who participated in the 2024 World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, won nine championships, seven runner-up positions, and finished third in these competitions.
The Fira Roboworld Cup open and Summits will be held in one of the coalition’s member states with the aim of encouraging younger generations and industries to focus more on robotics and artificial intelligence. The event has sparked a growing interest in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence among young people.
IESO 2025
IESO was held from August 7th to 17th.
The team consisted of Bardia Khalili, Parisa Sedqi, Fatemeh Hedayat Kakhaki and Zahra Goudarzipour.
IESO is an educational event for secondary school students organized by the International Institute for Geoscience Education (IGEO). The purpose of this competition is to raise the level of geoscience education around the world, raise students’ interest in geoscience, and raise public awareness of geoscience. This is one of 12 international science Olympiads.
The first IESO was held in 2007 at Great EG in Korea and has been held every year ever since, attracting over 100 students from over 30 countries each year.
This year, a total of 210 students and teachers from 31 countries and regions participated in the IESO competition. This includes theoretical and practical tests and fieldwork tests.
In 2024, a four-man Iranian team won silver and two bronze medals at IESO held in Beijing, China from August 8th to 16th.

Iranian students won gold, two silver and bronze medals in the 37th edition of Informatics (IOI) held in Sucre, Bolivia.
The event begins on July 27th and ends on August 3rd. This year’s event featured a total of 330 contestants from 84 countries.
Amir-Ali Asgari won the gold medal, Mani Zare and Hamed Ghafari won the silver medal, while Kiarash Rezaei won the bronze medal, Isna reported.
Iran won two silver medals and two bronze medals at the 8th International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2025, held from July 20-29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
This year, 68 countries participated in IEO. Mohsen Payandeh-Peyman and Abolfazl Modir-Roosta won silver medals, while Parsa Sedaqat and Alireza Ahmadi won bronze medals, the IRNA reported.
The four Iranian students won three gold and silver medals at the 36th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2025), ranking second in 81 countries from 3rd in 2024.
According to Pana, Siabash Pezeshpur, Ali Soleimanzadeh Kalafraudi and Ali Akbar Nourorahi won gold medals while Radin Bayani won silver medals.
Five Iranian students won silver medals at the 55th International Physics Olympics, ranking 11th in the world.
IPHO 2025, held in Paris from July 18th to 24th, attracted 440 candidates from over 90 countries.
Mohammad-Hassan Sadeqinejad Simaki, Arya Zarabi, Ilya Qashee, Mohammah-Hassan Golabdar and Milad Mohammadi have won silver medals, Irib reported.
Iran won two gold medals, three silver medals and a bronze medal at the 66th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO 2025) held in Australia from July 10-20.
Bardia Khosh-Eqbal and Mehdi Aqajanloo won the gold medal, with Mohammad-Reza Attaranzadeh, Mohammad-Sajad Memari and Amir-Hossein Zarei winning the silver medal, while Parsa Tajallaei won the bronze medal.
The team was ranked second in the 3rd International Mathematics Summer Camp (IMSC) held in Beijing, China from June 20th to July 12th, 2025.
Bardia Khosh-Eqbal won the gold medal, Mehdi Aqajanloo, Parsa Tajallaei, Mohammad-Reza Attaranzadeh and Mohammad-Sajad Memari won the silver medal, while Amir-Hossein Zarei won the bronze medal.
