Iran’s economy minister Abdulnaser Hemati and his Saudi counterpart, Mohamed Al-Jadan, discussed ways to expand economic cooperation between their countries.
The two ministers met on Sunday evening on the sidelines at the Emerging Markets Economy Conference to be held in Al Ra, Saudi Arabia from February 16-17.
Hemmati and Aljadaan emphasized the importance of developing trade and customs cooperation, bilateral investment and avoiding double taxation.
They also emphasized promoting financial processes related to Iranian Hajj pilgrims.
The Iranian Economy Minister traveled to Saudi Arabia on Saturday to attend the Al-Ra Conference of Emerging Markets Economy, co-organised by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Iran and Saudi Arabia recovered relations in March 2023 under a China-brokered deal following a seven-year hiatus. Since then, the two countries have been working to expand relations in a variety of fields, including politics, economics and culture.
