The July edition of the Tehran – Webometrics World rankings includes 64 medical universities in Iran, which remain the same since the January edition.
Tehran University of Medicine (485) is the only university ranked among the top 500 institutions in the world, Mehr news agency reported.
Among the universities in Iran, Mazandaran Medical University, Kermansha University School of Medicine and Yazd University Medical University improved their rankings with positions 1002, 961 and 948, respectively.
Shahrekord Medical Sciences University, Urmia Medical University, ILAM Medical Sciences University, Kashan University School of Medicine Albor University Medical Sciences University, Kordestan University Medical Sciences University, Maraghe Medical University, are other universities, and it is not ignorant.
Other universities are declining compared to the January edition.
Ranking Web (Webometrics) has been published since 2004 with the aim of promoting open access to university-generated knowledge. The July 2025 edition includes almost 32,000 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from around the world. The ranking model is based on both web metric indicators and bibliographic indicators collected from trusted sources such as Majestic, Openalex, and Scimago-Scopus.
Web data is collected on the first day of July, while bibliographic information covers the period from 2020 to 2024.
The Webometrics July 2025 ranking is based on a combination of metrics that measure the presence and impact of the university’s web. Specifically, we use three key indicators: visibility (50%), excellence (40%), and transparency/openness (10%). These indicators assess the impact on the university’s website, the number of highly cited research papers, and the number of citations for researchers, respectively.
July 2025 edition, Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University, Washington University, University of Michigan, Cornell University, University of California, Berkeley, Johns Hopkins University, and Columbia University, New York are the top 10 institutions.

Times Higher Education (The) includes 34 Iranian universities among the top universities pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from 33 universities in 2024.
The Iranian School of Medicine, which has the Global Rankings 301-400, is the first in the country to be placed.

The 22nd edition of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) in 2026, unchanged from the 2025 rankings, placing nine Iranian universities among the world’s top institutes.
Tehran University, with a global ranking of 322, is the first Iranian university ranked.
Sharif University of Technology (Rankings 375) and Amilkavir University of Technology (456) are located in the second and third positions.
The Iranian University of Science and Technology (496), Isfahan Institute of Technology (571), Tabriz University (578), Shiraz University (701-710), Shahid Beshti University (741-750), and Feldousi University Mashhad University (951-1000) are the other top universities included in the Land of the year.
Round University Ranking (RUR) 2025 has placed 36 Iranian universities among the top universities in the world from 32 universities in 2024.
With a global ranking of 93, the University of Islamic Azad is the first to be placed in the country.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Islamic Azad University are ranked third and fourth in the world in terms of educational ranking index. They will be placed first and second in the country. Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (global ranking 69) is third place.
Based on the research ranking index of Tehran University (Global Rankings 138), Sharif University of Technology (252) and Islamic Azad University (259) each ranks number one in the country.
Islamic Azad University (414), Graduate School of Advanced Technology University (542), and Imam Hossein University (572) rank from 1st to 3rd in terms of the international diversity ranking index.
Based on the Financial Sustainability Index, Imam Hossein University (155), Bakil Al-Olm University (212), and Iran University of Science and Technology (245) are the top three universities in the country.
The Times Asian University Rankings 2025 has placed 85 Iranian universities at the top institutions in Asia compared to 75 universities in 2024.
