Tehran – Iran’s Chinese ambassador Abdulza Ramani Fazli highlights the country’s strategic push for constructive engagement and stronger relationships with key regional and international partners as part of its expanding role in global diplomacy.
Alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut, Rahmani Fazli recently met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on a sideliner at the Shanghai Cooperation Agency (SCO) Foreign Minister’s Meeting held in China’s Tiajin city.
Emphasizing the importance of the July 16 meeting, Rahmani Fazli said: “Iran’s aggressive diplomacy is led by a strong, strategic approach and is moving towards constructive engagement and greater alignment with like-minded countries and major global actors.”
During the meeting, Aragut thanked Beijing for his continued support for Iran and reaffirmed his support for Tehran’s China’s revolving SCO presidency.
Araguchi said Iran is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges between the two countries and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.
On the Chinese side, the king reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Iran in defending state sovereignty, resisting power politics and bullying, and protecting legitimate rights through political dialogue. He also highlighted China’s goodwill and commitment to stronger regional ties.
Iran has deepened its integration with SCO. In July 2023, the organization officially approved Iran’s full membership, becoming the ninth member of the world’s largest regional organization due to its geographical scope and population.
