TEHRAN – Iran’s Attorney General Gollam Hossein Moseni Ejay is preparing to join in and leave China from nine member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to participate in the 20th Summit of the Supreme Court’s 20th Chair.
Mohseni-ejei is leading a high-level judicial delegation on a trip to Hangzhou, a prominent city in southern China on Monday, according to information released by the Judicial Media Centre. The summit represents an important opportunity for Iran to engage with other member states and contribute to the development of joint strategies in the field of legal and judicial sciences.
Over the course of the summit, Mohseni-Ejei will deliver addresses at both opening and closing ceremonies, highlighting Iran’s perspective on key issues and potential solutions. Additionally, he will hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from SCO member states, providing a platform for detailed discussions and exploration of joint ventures between Iran and other countries within the SCO framework.
The central focus of this year’s conference revolves around strategic and operational approaches aimed at strengthening legal and judicial coordination and cooperation between member states. These discussions include a wide range of topics, including the establishment of joint initiatives to combat various forms of transnational crime and strengthen legal frameworks.
SCO Members make up a significant 42% of the world’s population, and countries that share common boundaries unite by pursuing joint initiatives across different domains. Beyond established cooperation in the economic, political, security and defense sectors, organizations are actively expanding their involvement in the fields of legal and judicial care.
The SCO is actively working towards the establishment of multilateral legal and judicial convergence programs. The ambitious programme seeks to provide a platform for Member States to discuss and implement joint mechanisms designed to effectively combat pressing challenges such as terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the ever-evolving threat of cybercrime. The Hangzhou summit will provide an important opportunity to advance these goals and build stronger partnerships between SCO member states.
