Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s highest national security council, held a bilateral meeting with Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud in Riyadh on Tuesday.
At the beginning of the meeting, Khalid bin Salman thanked Iran for his hospitality when he visited Tehran earlier this year. He emphasized the importance of continuing constructive dialogue between the two countries.
During discussions, both sides discussed emerging issues of mutual concern and reviewed the implementation of previous agreements reached in the recent round of dialogue. The conference also highlighted the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the defense and security sectors.
Larijani was accompanied by Ali Bagheri Crani, vice-chairman of the Supreme National Security Council, and Muhammad Ali Bak, assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Persian Gulf.
The visit to Riyadh is Larijani’s third international mission since he was appointed secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. He had previously travelled to Baghdad and Beirut to travel for high-level consultations.
