Tehran – Amitis, a well-known Iranian theatre group, announces its acclaimed production “disruption”, written and directed by Mohammad Amin Saadi as the official representative of Iran at the ongoing international regional theatre in Poti, Georgia.
The “disturbance” which completed over 70 performances in Tehran is now competing at the festival, which will continue until August 1st.
The festival features 11 theatre groups from France, Romania, Iran, Georgia and Lithuania.
Nominated in categories such as director, acting, costume design and makeup at the FAJR International Theatre Festival, “Confusme” continues to gain recognition for artistic excellence.
The play is a loose adaptation of the novel “L’Etourdissement” by French writer and screenwriter Joel Eglov, translated into Persian by Asghar Nouri. Explore themes of identity and resilience through compelling stories.
“Crash” is a poetic novel that explores the lives of a young man working in an unlikely, dark environment, a slaughterhouse between an airport, a supermarket and a landfill. The presence of an annoyed grandmother and a narrator living alone is characterized by a sense of monotony and stagnation. He looks back at his work and describes it as a bleeding wound, which makes him dizzy and embodies the ratiophor due to his emotional and existential fatigue.
In this routine, subtle hints of love and longing emerge. During the break, he observes the dreams of a girl and a school teacher he has glimpsed, but in fear of getting close, he reveals his deep sitting connections and longing for meaning. His friendship with several companions sparks a moment of escape from his monotonous reality, a plan for a fleeting trip and adventure.
Despite its seemingly mundane and absurd surface, the novel brilliantly depicts a dark and beautiful, poetic portrait of life. The author weaves a story filled with quirky characters, astonishingly humorous scenes. Everything is set in an atmosphere reminiscent of generous fairy tales.
The cast includes Fardin Rahmanpour and Sahar Qasemi.
The International Regional Theatre Festival is held annually in Poti city in July, bringing together theatre companies from various countries, performing, fostering connections and building friendships.
