Tehran – Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Defence Army Logistics, condemns Washington’s concept of “peace by power,” which amounts to “submission to the United States, not true peace.”
“The world does not accept America’s idea of peace through power,” Nasirzadeh said, adding that states seeking freedom and developing countries have long rejected such a forced approach.
Iran’s defense chief was last Wednesday, when he was Turkish counterpart Ya? At the invitation of argüler, we made an official visit to Ankara. The visit has emerged amid rapid regional changes in recent months, highlighting the expansion of cooperation between two neighbors on defense and security issues.
During the two-day trip, Nasirzadeh held discussions with senior Turkish officials, including the head of the general staff, on defense relations, joint counterterrorism efforts and strengthening border security.
“Turkey is one of our most important neighbours, and both countries play an influential role in the equations of the Islamic world and regional,” he said in an interview with IRIB News in Ankara. “Our coordination is essential to maintaining peace and stability in the region.”
Nasirzadeh said both sides discussed a wide range of regional issues, including the threat posed by the Syria, the Caucasus and the Israeli regimes.
“The Zionist regime does not respect international law and does not have a red line,” he said. “The actions need cooperation to generate and counter shared understanding among regional countries that it is a real threat.”
He said this convergence between regional states represents “a major achievement born out of the reckless actions of the Zionist regime.”
Nasirzadeh also invited Turkish defense minister to visit Tehran, and announced that both sides agreed to maintain high levels of interaction between the military delegations. “We have much more commonality than our differences,” he added.
Commenting on the recent deployment of US military forces in the region, Nasirzadeh said Washington’s claim to promote “peace by power” was merely an attempt to impose that will on others.
“This concept has existed ever since President George H.W. Bush declared the unipolar world order led by the US,” he said. “It’s not new, but today they express it more openly. They say, ‘We have power, and you have to submit it.’ It’s not peace.
Nasirzadeh addressed concerns about the increasing presence of US military forces in the region, saying that such a move is not unprecedented and is part of a long-standing psychological tactic.
“For decades, we have seen them in and out of our fleets. As a military force, we must always be prepared to protect our nation – that is a principle – but society should not be affected by their psychological warfare,” he said.
He describes the current global situation as a “hybrid war,” which combines military and psychological aspects, with cognitive aspects playing a greater role.
“When they repeatedly say “the attack is imminent,” their goal is to disrupt society, increase inflation and destabilize the economy,” he warned. “People must pay attention to this cognitive war. If conflict is imposed on us, we are ready to defend during the 12-day war that forced our enemy to accept a ceasefire.”
Referring to the Zionist regime’s attacks on global convoys, on a global fleet of Gaza-bound aid vessels, the minister said the move once again made it clear that Israel ignored international law.
“Since World War II, numerous international regulations have been enacted under the UN system, but the Zionist regime has violated all of them in recent years and is fully supported by the United States,” he said. “Even after the International Court of Justice condemned Netanyahu, Washington went to sanction the court itself.”
He added that the fleet represents the international community’s will to stand up against Genocide and the civilian starvation of Gaza, but Israel attacked it without restraint.
“The world now has a clear understanding of the threat posed by this administration,” Nasirzadeh said. “People are becoming more and more aware, and we continue to witness anti-Zionist movements around the world.”
