TEHRAN – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh arrived in Belarus on Tuesday and launched high-level consultations aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the defense and technology sector.
General Nasirzadeh was received by a senior Belarusian official when he arrived in Minsk. His agenda includes discussions with military and civilian leaders focusing on defense cooperation, technology transfer and broader strategic initiatives. Specific topics include joint military exercises, joint production of defense equipment, and collaboration in cybersecurity.
General Nasirzadeh’s visit is expected to bring about concrete outcomes and concrete agreements.
The visit comes after Iran and Belarus highlighted the importance of working together last year to counter the unilateral US counterattack. At a High Rank Conference in Tehran, the capital of Iran, Iranian Army Commander Abdolrahim Musavi and visiting commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Andrei Lukanovic have been motivated to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defence sector.
