According to the Tehran Times, Team Melli lost to Russia 2-1 in two friendlies last week and won against Tanzania 2-0.
Japan, known as Samurai Blue, remains in 19th place, making them the top team in Asia.
They defeated five-time world champions Brazil 3-2 in an international friendly earlier this week.
South Korea moved up one place to 22nd place, while Australia remained unchanged at 25th place. Qatar, who defeated the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, moved up one place to 52nd.
Uzbekistan fell one place to 55th, while Iraq moved up one place to 58th. Saudi Arabia also qualified for the FIFA World Cup on Tuesday, moving up one place to 58th.
Jordan fell four places to 66th, while the UAE (67th, unchanged) and Oman (79th, down one) round out Asia’s top 10.
Syria moved up six places to 86th place, while Thailand and Malaysia moved up five places to 96th and 118th place respectively. Sri Lanka climbed four notches to 193.
Spain remains at the top of the ranking, followed by France and Argentina.
