Iran’s national freestyle wrestling team won two gold, two silver and three bronze medals in different weight categories to top the 2025 World Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia on Tuesday.
Iran had an early victory in the competition on Monday. Iran had two finalists in the last two weight categories remaining on Tuesday. This is the Amylaria salpira in the 65kg Rahman Amouzad and the 97kg weight category. Amouzad bagged Iran’s second gold medal on Tuesday, but Azalpira settled for a silver medal after being beaten slightly by American enemies.
Amirhossein Zare won his country’s first gold medal in the 125kg category. Ahmad Mohammadnejad Javan and Kamran Ghasempour, Mohammad Nokhodi and Amirhossein Firouzpour also won silver and bronze medals as of Monday.
The last time the National Freestyle Wrestling team won the championship title was at the 2013 World Championships held in Budapest.
The Iranian team won six world titles in this year’s victory.
