In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Touraj Amraei, assistant director of development of the Iranian Vice President’s knowledge-based corporate division for a science, technology and knowledge-based economy, brought the current share of knowledge-based companies in Iran’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) production to about 2%.
Therefore, he emphasized that there is a need to increase the sales and export volume of domestic knowledge-based products.
The knowledge-based company’s share is planned to reach more than 7% by the end of the seventh five-year socioeconomic and cultural development plan.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the status of knowledge-based products exporting, saying that the country is currently exporting knowledge-based products worth $500 million overseas.
He added that if export barriers are removed, country exports of knowledge-based products will increase dramatically.
