Tehran – The 2024 Iranian drama romance television miniseries “The End of the Night” directed by Ida Panahandeh, has entered the top 10 section of Cologne at the 35th Film Festival, which will be held in Germany from October 9th to 16th.
This is the first time the Iranian series has been ranked among the top 10 television shows at this European event, Honaron Line reported.
Film festival Cologne is one of Europe’s famous film and television events. “The End of the Night” competes at the festival along with major works by the German ZDF, the UK BBC, the Denmark NRK, the French Arte, and the US Discovery and Warner.
The Iran series has previously won three international awards. He participated in the Series Mania Festival held in France in March and won the Best Direct Award.
In June, the series attended Cinema Jove in Spain, the 40th Valencia International Film Festival, and received ju-degree mentions for the best actors and best actresses of Parsa Pirouzfar and Hoda Zeinolabedin, respectively.
Written and produced by the real-life creative couple Panahande and Arsaran Amiri, the nine-episode series delicately and skillfully analyses the separation of couples shattered by the disillusionment of social situations.
Behnam and Mahi have built middle class lives for themselves in the suburbs of Tehran, but their marriages have fallen apart. Behavioral issues, strict parents, financial worries, and an intrusive nation put additional pressure on families.
The miniseries feels like a slow motion emotional car accident. This is not a loud, explosive drama, but a collection of intimate, brilliantly written, flexible scenes from the everyday life of modern marriages.
The Iranian miniseries strongly reflect on the sacrifice of life together, and stands out with its deep, authentic characters and exceptional performances of two lead actors, Pirowfer and Zainora Bedin.
Other cast members include Rayan Sarlak, Alireza Davoudnezhad, Reza Beboudi, Ehteram Boroumand, Siamak Safari, Kazem Hajirazad, and Nahid Moslemi.
